The Department of Regional Development Australia (RDA) acts as the public face for the Commonwealth funded RDA program. To boost visibility and showcase the active and innovative RDA Committees, the department aimed to transform their website into a dynamic web portal. This user-centered platform serves as an information hub, providing detailed program information, serving as a repository for electronic newsletters, events, and operational updates.

Working closely with the department, our team adopted a user-centered approach to create an engaging web portal. Limited focus group consultations and user testing with relevant stakeholders, including Commonwealth and state-based agencies, ensured the platform met the needs of its target audience.

The redesigned website consists of about 50 pages, offering various content types and user interactions. Our solution integrated text, graphics, images, hosted videos, hyperlinks, embedded links, an events calendar, printing capabilities, document hosting, and downloads in multiple formats. 

We implemented interactive web forms and smart forms to streamline form filling, submission, printing, and downloading. Leveraging our Drupal development expertise, we built the website using the GovCMS SaaS platform (Drupal 9), enabling easy content management and updates by the RDA staff.

​​The successful completion of the project in late 2022 within the agreed timeline positions the new RDA web portal as a valuable resource for investors and individuals interested in regional Australia.
