The Bendigo Tourism website project incorporates websites for attractions across the Bendigo region: the City of Bendigo, Mt Alexander Shire, Loddon Shire, Central Goldfields Shire, as well as Capital Venue & Events and Bendigo Art Gallery. In designing and developing the site, we needed to come up with an information architecture that housed all of these sites in a manner that was cohesive, but also gave each of the destinations an opportunity to create a unique digital presence.

Bendigo Tourism wanted users to visit the site with one goal in mind, but leave with their minds expanded–resulting in a longer stay in the region. Our design solution focussed on creating a one-stop shop for all the region’s experiences, educating users about the region and engaging users with rich content, interactive maps and innovative interactions. The visual design takes users on a journey, through amazing imagery of the region. 

The sites are built using Drupal 8 using multisite. In addition, the sites integrate seamlessly with multiple third-party systems for events and bookings. 

Launched in August 2019, the suite of Bendigo Tourism websites truly represents best-in-class User Experience design for the tourism industry.
