The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) is the national regulator for Australia’s vocational education and training sector, including course accreditation. ASQA engaged Bliss to redesign and redevelop their website on GovCMS (SAAS).

ASQA was seeking a collaborative and iterative approach from our team, to produce a user experience and web design that is user-friendly, credible and visually engaging.

ASQA’s website needs to be accessed by a range of users, including both providers and students. In the discovery and design phase, we focussed on presenting complex and specific information in a way that could be easily understood and accessed by users who were often engaging in the material for the first time.

Ensuring the content of the new website is clear and user-friendly was key to this project. The previous site contained hundreds of pages and it was often difficult for users to find what they needed. During the project discovery phase, Bliss conducted a detailed analysis of the site’s architecture and mapped out a new IA using our Human-centred design methodology. To understand the needs of users, we conducted workshops for internal stakeholders and performed user testing of their design solution on actual users.

Bliss Digital was able to deliver a site which achieved its goals, with an elegant, modern and approachable design, which is also easy for the ASQA team to manage on an ongoing basis. Today, Bliss continues to support the site on GovCMS SaaS via an ongoing support and maintenance agreement.
