Knox City Council Human Centred Design - responsive and accessible - Drupal
Knox-cover1x

Bliss Digital is passionate about how our approach to user experience and digital technology helps local governments deliver services to their communities. Knox City Council (KCC) engaged Bliss Digital in early 2020 on the build stream of their website. The user experience design phase was completed by Knox City Council and an external agency.

For this project our Drupal team was responsible for Drupal 9 implementation, responsive frontend development, testing, training, deployment, support and maintenance of the new council website and starting services.

The Knox City Council vision was to deliver a best practice council website, streamlining choices customers needed to make and simplifying ways of providing supporting information. We worked with Council to integrate a plethora of IT services to streamline online services to their customers. A key challenge of the project was a Drupal 7 to Drupal 9 content migration for a complex, multi-tiered website.

Our team was able to create custom code to bulk import data based on Council’s requirements, making a potentially difficult phase, as seamless as possible. This was a hugely collaborative project, where we worked as a unified team with the City of Knox on a very tight schedule. Council embraced our agile approach to project delivery, which enabled us to complete the project successfully within our planned time frame.

This project is the first part of an ongoing relationship between Bliss Digital and the City of Knox, aimed at the continuous improvement of their digital experience.
